About Us
The Mumm Barn is a picturesque Polk County farm providing the ideal site for seeking a rustic and charming venue, yet it's a sophisticated and elegant site for weddings or other special events.
The Mumm Barn is located about 60 minutes by car from the Minneapolis / St. Paul area.
We are located on over one hundred acres encompassing beautiful farmland, lowland and woods, all perfect backdrops to your big day.
The 1950s Gothic Arch dairy barn has been carefully repurposed, resulting in over 9,000 square feet of entertaining space.
It’s all about relationships: we make the effort of getting to know our clients, and we want them to know us! I'm your host, Rebecca. After twenty-six years in corporate America as a Project Manager, I knew my skills would some day come in handy. I am a Type-A woman that goes through each and every little detail to bring the very best to each person planning their special event.
Michael and Rebecca Mumm bought the Farm in April of 2005, knowing we wanted to raise a family in the country, instantly fell in love with the 1950s barn and the property. Currently our property sits on 106 acres, mixture of crops, low lands and woods. For several years the barn was the house of animals until the fall of 2015, when my husband and I thought, "why not share this amazing structure with others?" Rebecca glowed with cheer. From there their family of four (two boys - Brady and Dayne) began the adventure of a lifetime, we started creating a space for people to remember forever.
The renovation to the barn included adding the appropriate ADA requirements, being state certified and permitted was important to us. We have restrooms on both levels of the barn, ensuring everyone has access to these facilities.
The handicap ramp lands on our north entrance for the upper level and south for the lower level. Keeping the authenticity of the structure as it was once built was critical to the design in providing the elegance we wanted this venue to convey. Every detail was carefully thought out to ensure the best experience ever.
The Gothic Arch design of the barn speaks for itself with its charm and beauty! We will express to our guest when it comes to decorating, less is more, the barn shows itself well, and adding your small personal touches is all that’s needed.
While we live on the property, our home site is some distance from the barn, but still provides a space for many pictures to be taken. The grounds themselves are hand kept by our family, we are still a working farm with Herford Beef roaming the pastures behind the barn itself. Every spring you can experience the new babies joining the herd and the sounds of nature as your perfect day unfolds. The seasons on the farm bring out the easy beauty that nature can provide.
This is a family affair and every detail is perfectly thought out!
